...is freakin out about Christmas.
After reading this recent post on starting the Christmas present-making by Bianca Jae makes stuff I got inspired. I realised I had this ideal in my head that I would make a few presents for my family and how wonderful it would all be. I also realised that unless I got busy, and committed, an idea is all that it would ever be.
So this week my creative space is about jotting down my Christmas ideas, so I can get started and take some action. So far we have
Belts for the two sisters in law. Fabrics belts like this one I made a little while ago.
A bag for Mum. I'm thinking a clutch bag. I need to investigate patterns as well as fabrics!
Skirts for my sisters. Feature panel skirts, but I won't go into too much detail as I know my sisters sometimes peek this blog and I don't want to get hopes up, or spoil the surprise if I get around to it..
XXX for the hubby. (You'll have to wait until after Christmas for this one as I know he often checks out the blog)
Pram blanket and pram insert for the pram. (O.K. I don't actually give presents to my pram usually, but these two need to be done)
A quilt for my baby daughter. We'll see how this one goes though.
There it is. In writing, in all its green and red Christmas glory.
Head on over to Kootoyoo for more creative freaks.
Now you're freaking me out!!! I have grand plans of a handmade chrissy too - I hope I can actually do it. I love your ideas - keep us posted.
ReplyDeletewhat lucky family and friends you have to receive so much home made goodness!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lot of work making all those presents.... and you have just 34 days or somethig...
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Yowie. I love a good list and I think it's good for you to get it out of your head. Been toying with a Chrissie list myself but I think I'm scared of the commitment!
ReplyDeleteI did a handmade Christmas last year for both sides of the family and it was fine really, although looking back I think I must've been insane because I had a newborn and a toddler and was very sleep-deprived. Having said that, I was pretty realistic about what sort of gifts I could make... all pretty low-key. Mostly!
I promised myself that I'd start early this year.... so much for that!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to take your advice and start my list tonight.
Great idea to make a list. I think sometimes we underestimate the time needed to just whip something up. Fingers crossed that everything gets ticked off the list by the 25th.
ReplyDeletewow you are going to be soooooo busy! I too must make a start
ReplyDeleteArrgh! The Christmas list! I have way too many projects flying around in my head for Christmas, though I'm only fully committed to one. But still! There's not that much time left! And the snails pace at which I work, it could be an issue....
ReplyDeleteHi Thanks for stopping by my creative space yesterday, someone recommended I pop by here as you were a dab hand with Ottober design and it has been on my 'to do' list since. I Love your blog, glad I finally stopped by : )

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I stumbled onto your post and saw your gift plans in list form. I've had a nagging feeling about the plans that have piled up in my head for Christmas gifts to be made, and now I'll do the obvious and make my own to-make list! Enjoy your holiday crafting!
